The most popular preparation method for Tri Tip we see is a smoker using a neutral wood. They can also easily be grilled or reverse seared. We love Sous Vide with a very hot sear finish.

  • Full-Bodied wine such as a Shiraz or Bourdeaux
  • Japanese Whisky
  • Martinis

Great for Yakiniku!

We sliced the meat with the grain rather cross the grain, it resulted a fabulous yakiniku cut. If cross cut, the meat is a bit more chewy. We had a great BBQ!

Australian Wagyu Tri Tip

What a great piece of meat! So tender, juicy and flavorful! I am a Wagyu junkie, and I have to admit, because of the chew and flavor, my favorite is the Australian Wagyu. Don’t get me wrong, Japanese Wagyu melts in your mouth and is wonderful to eat, but for a meat fest, Australian is my go to. If you are into Tri Tips, you have to get this one and dry marinate, smoke nice and slow, you will be blown away! Glad it goes on sale, I’m getting so spoiled
