I love this ny strip, it melts in your mouth, med rare side of asparagus and sprinkle some truffle salt .
We have had Australian Wagyu a couple of times in restaurants and really loved it. We thought we would buy the Japanese A5 as a treat to ourselves and we were really disappointed with the steak. We watched the video on how to prepare it and followed the directions exactly. The steak was very juicy and tender but had no flavor whatsoever. We have had ribeye steaks that had more flavor than that. Prior to leaving this review, I sent an e-mail to the company expressing our disappointment with the steak but never got a response from them. It won't be a repeat for us.
After speaking with the customer we learned that she did not realize how much marbling Japanese A5 Wagyu had and that it was not to her liking. We offered her a consultation prior to her next order and even offered to ship the next piece prior to her having to pay for it. I'm not quite sure what more we can do to make this situation right, but this is a great lesson for everyone that Japanese A5 Wagyu is exactly as we describe it. Intensely rich! And a very high BMS score of 11 is just 1 point below the literal top amount of marbling. For many, this is precisely the experience they are seeking. For some, such as this customer, it may be better to stick to Australian Wagyu or a lower-BMS score Japanese A5 Wagyu.
Got this as a present for my son. He said it was probably the best steak he has ever had.
