The steaks that changed everything
My overall experience was excellent. I had some questions at first about what steaks I should get (Japanese or Australian ). So I posted a comment on the Instagram page, I was promptly told to email Nick with any questions and he would help. So I did and I was blown away. Not only were my questions answered but they were answered almost immediately by Nick. I bought 5 Australian wagyu ribeyes and 3 Australian wagyu Denver cuts. I cooked 3 ribeyes and 1 Denver yesterday and it was life-changing. My wife had the Denver and after taking, her first bite put down her fork and knife and said “ I Now Understand Why You Bought These Steaks THEY ARE AMAZING!!!. No finished product pictures because we were starving and gobbled them up but I will post them next time I cool! Thank you Nick and everyone at the Meatery
Amazing flavor - careful on the cook!
Wow, what a tasty piece of meat!! This ribeye was packed with so much flavor. I’m used to getting thicker cuts and this one being very thin cooks insanely fast so be careful! I used a piece of its fat to season my cast iron and was on medium heat (I have induction so it’s insanely hot) 2 minutes on one side and about 50 seconds on the other and it came out perfect. Due to its thiness it is hard to tell but was a perfect medium rare Next time I’m stepping up to the 16 oz! Zero regrets, amazing amazing flavor and much better than A5 in terms of overall enjoyment
Amazing steak always
Everytime I get a steak from here it’s delicious and the owner is always knowledgable and friendly!!
As a huge steak lover (we dont have such a great steak market in my home country) and first time wagyu tasting i decided to prepare the steak by reverse searing it, just using salt and peper and i must say this was best piece of meat i tasted in my life (so far & after pu**y ) it just melts in your mouth with explosion of the juices & flavor.. highly recomending this!
delicious but cut to skinny!
The steak arrived vacuum sealed, approx. 1" thick. I like my steaks 1 1/2" to 1 3/4". Easier to cook in my opinion, I love my steaks "Pittsburg", impossible to do on a thin cut. Mind you I was comparing the Japanese Wagyu sampler, the Australian Wagyu and a "Prime grade Rib Eye" from "Costco", which is what I typically eat, when I have steak. The Japanese Wagyu melted in my mouth, like steak butter. Very filling, the small steak would have been enough for me, only me. The Australian Wagyu had higher balance of meat to fat ratio (marbling) and tasted awesome! Not quite as rich as the Japanese Wagyu but tasted in some ways better. Very filling as well. The Prime cut from Costco had a higher meat to marbling ratio than the other two cuts. It was not marbled as fully as the other cuts and consequently paled in comparison. That is not to denigrate the prime cut steak. All the steaks, like women, each had there own nuances and satisfied the senses in there own way. The Prime cut cost the least approx. $ 25.00 for a 16 oz cut. The Australian, twice that for a 10 oz. cut and of coarse the Japanese Wagyu 3 times as much for a 10 oz cut. I prefer the girl next door for my main stay but stepping out for the exotic every once in a while will have to happen.
Great Experience - Serious Beef
I was pleased to discover The Meatery and decided to try a new purveyor of premium beef. The shipment was on its way within an hour or so. This steak is a real value and my first time trying Australian Wagyu, I'm a fan for life. Rich beef profile and not too rich. Puts the best prime to shame, highly recommended. I'm excited to try the other products I purchased!
